Electrical Estimator

Under the immediate supervision of the Estimating Manager, the Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment required to secure contracts.

The role of our estimator:
Prepare an estimate of potential costs for materials, labor and equipment required to complete a project, based on bids, plans, specifications and estimates;
Open bids and forward them to the estimating assistant;
Identify risks;
Identify insurance needs;
Complete the submission review opening and follow up with the department manager;
Read the specifications, general clauses and relevant checks in the architectural specifications;
Request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors;
Make a quotation from your software;
Participate in bid closing with the chief estimator and department manager;
Count site instructions;
Participate in the start-up meeting to get acquainted;
Check addendums and all related documents and make changes if necessary;
Forward all relevant documents to the estimating assistant for file update;
Validate with professionals that we have received all relevant addendums and documents;
Validate contractors bidding on the same project with the necessary tools;
Send submission-related documents to ISO;
All other related tasks.

Skills required

We're looking for an electrical estimator who's motivated by challenges and gifted at analysis. Whatever the mandate, this meticulous individual will do everything in his or her power to calculate a quote based on the scope of the work. Managing priorities and finding solutions are in their nature!

Profile:
DEC in building mechanics, DEC in building estimating technology or AEC in construction estimating, completed;
Any experience equivalent to a diploma will be considered;
BSDQ knowledge: TES filing, etc;
Computer literate;
Good knowledge of blueprint reading;
Good knowledge of different types of materials.
